ADOPTION POLICY
Any person interested in adopting a sugar glider from Missy's Gliders of Tulsa must complete an adoption questionnaire. This helps to ensure that our babies are going to a great family that has the right tools and knowledge to give them the happiest, healthiest life possible. We care about and love every single suggie here as if they were our own pets.
We cannot hold a sugar glider for you until the 25% non refundable deposit has been paid. Once the 25% non refundable deposit has been paid, the baby is marked as "sold," and no one else will be given the opportunity to purchase that specific glider.
SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
Shipping is available through American or Delta Airlines. Standard shipping cost is $250 plus the cost of supplies and a health certificate, from the vet, required for flight.
SUGAR GLIDER CARE
CAGE REQUIREMENTS
Sugar Gliders are active, and need a lot of extra room in their cage. Because they prefer to climb and jump, the amount of vertical space is more important than the square footage of the cage. A good cage size for a pair of sugar gliders is 24 inches deep by 24 inches wide by 36 inches tall (minimum). Larger is always better, keeping in mind that height is important for the gliders. The spacing of the wire should be no more than 1/2 inch apart. All wire should be powder coated with no rust exposed. Any doors that do not lock should be zip tied closed as sugar gliders are smart and can open any door that isn't locked.
DIET
There are several different theories on what you should feed a sugar glider on a daily basis. But most sugar glider experts agree that these wonderful animals, when raised in captivity, require fresh fruit, fresh vegetables and protein. We recommend The Pet Glider Fresh Diet (TPG) every day with TPG vitamins with calcium sprinkled on top, staples in the habitats at all time, mealworms and healthy treats. Please go to thepetglider.com to buy your vitamins and get the recipe for this diet. Pellets are not an acceptable diet for sugar glider but may be left in the cage as a day time snack. Live meal worms are preferred over freeze dried. Rainbowmealworms.net has a great variety of meal worms and safe live bugs your suggie will enjoy.
SAFE EXERCISE WHEELS
It's very important to buy an acceptable wheel for sugar gliders. The cheap wheels from the pet store or exotic nutrition can cause severe injury. Their toes can get caught or their tail broken. Please buy a Raptor, Attixworks, Custom Cruiser or Spinzone Global wheel, they are all approved vendors that make exercise wheels safe for suggies. Wheels are a necessity in the cage.
UNSAFE WHEELS
Please avoid any of the wheels pictured here. These wheels are NOT safe and could cause sever injury to your sweet little sugar glider.
We're happy to help with any sugar glider needs whether you purchased from us or not.
